About Jeff Sartain
As a Mixed Media artist, I really enjoy having a wealth of resources available to me. Be it paint, wood, stone or plaster, there's always a dance of elements, each bringing they're own characteristics into play. Then there is the artist's own vision. The task of weaving those elements into a work with harmony and resonance is where my focus lies. Feeling the materials in my hands as well as grasping the language of texture is a vital part of the process. The challenge of integrating that with form and color offers a creative journey that immerses me in nature's beauty and connects me to the "spirit of place", whether it be abstract or representational.
